Let's just start this review by stating the obvious - LUSH, as a whole, is amazing. Bath bombs, bubble bars, face masks....gimme gimme. Now, I'm not going to pretend that I avidly seek out products that are free of cancer causing ingredients or don't involve animal cruelty. But I'm also not opposed to those characteristics, obviously. "What? You didn't test this out on puppies before selling it to me? Hmmm...nope, I only want it if tiny animals have tried it first..." Nonetheless, if you ONLY use products that follow those guidelines, you probably already know about this company. They're all about that. But here is why I, personally, love LUSH: their products usually smell good and I enjoy having most of them all over my body....
This review will be on 2 of the Fresh Face Masks that I've tested recently. I decided to alternate between the 2 masks, using each mask once per week for 2 weeks.

1. Don't Look At Me
Purpose: Exfoliate and brighten skin
Texture: Gritty (it's a physical exfoliant)
Scent: Basically soap mixed with Fruit Loops
Ingredients that stood out: Lemon Juice, ground rice, tofu, kaolin (soft clay)
Use: Wash and dry your face, apply the mask, rinse, apply moisturizer
Overall, this scrub was pretty good. I'm not head over heels, but exfoliating is exfoliating. I have dry skin, so anything that helps me slough it off is cool in my books. It recommends applying generously and then leaving it on for 5-10 minutes, but the rebel in me leaves it on for 15 minutes. I wind up feeling clean and a bit softer but the softness isn't noteworthy. I might repurchase this, but I would likely try a different LUSH face mask first.
2. The Sacred Truth
Purpose: Moisturize and brighten skin
Texture: Smooth with little mushy bits
Scent: Almost like a rose fragrance combined with dirt (yaaa, I don't love it)
Ingredients that stood out: Honey, papaya, yoghurt, shea butter, coconut oil, eggs, bee pollen, green tea
Use: Wash and dry your face, apply the mask, rinse, apply toner, apply moisturizer
I love this. I'm just going to get right to it. This mask is bomb. Minus the smell, blah. Again, I left it on for 15 minutes instead of the recommended 10. It left my skin feeling so so SO soft, which is exactly why I wanted to try it in the first place. Seriously, I made my boyfriend pet my face for 5 minutes afterwards just so that someone else could enjoy the results with me. It also contains papaya, which is thought to reduce scarring so maybe someone who has acne scars (or otherwise) could find even further benefits from continued use. If you couldn't piece this together on your own, I will 100% be repurchasing this little gem.
On each face mask container, the label states "Bring back 5 clean LUSH pots with this logo and get a Fresh Face Mask free". Yay, free things! Thanks for being you, LUSH <3
